Pulst in 1966, this work exemplifies the artist's fascination with landscapes, flowers, and views of old towns. August Pulst's art education took place at Riga Art School during 1911-15 under V. Purvitis, V. Tillbergs, and B. Borchert. He also worked as a decorator in the theatre "Estonia" and played a vital role in collecting folklore and founding several Estonian museums. His works, primarily watercolors and oil paintings, often bear an ethnographical touch and have been exhibited since 1919.

Aleksander Pilar (1912 – 1989) was a renowned artist known for his mastery in watercolor painting. His work, "Lilled aknal" (1956), is a testament to his skill and artistic vision. This piece, measuring 29.4 x 22 cm, is a beautiful watercolor on paper that showcases Pilar's talent for capturing the beauty of everyday life. The artist's signature, A.Pilar 56, is located on the bottom right of the piece. Pilar studied in A. Kaigorodov's painting studio and later at the State Art Industrial School from 1938-41. He served as the responsible secretary of the Artists' Union from 1959-62 and 1969-71.
