Anatoli Strahhov: A Master of Texture and Meaning

Anatoli Strahhov (b. 1946) is a renowned collector and builder. His work, "Ehitaja" (2020), is a stunning piece of oil, tempera, collage, and canvas, measuring 41 x 68 cm. Strahhov studied at the Tshinvali Art School from 1963 to 1967 and at the Estonian SSR State Art Institute from 1971 to 1976. He currently lives and works in Tallinn and is a member of the Estonian Artists' Union and the Estonian Russian Artists' Association. Since 1975, he has participated in national and international exhibitions. His annual solo exhibitions have been held in galleries and exhibition halls in Estonia and abroad. His works are housed in private collections in the USA, Finland, Italy, France, Japan, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Russia, and Estonia. Strahhov's works, which skillfully create the impression of different materials and textures, balance conservatism and experiment, tradition and exoticism, expressive materiality and ephemeralness on a strange border, contain elusive textures and meanings that never fully open. He has participated in more than 30 solo and group exhibitions.
Minin, Sergei (born1954) Nelijärve. (1996)

As a member of the Estonian Artists Union and Vice-Chairman of the Russian Artists Union in Estonia, Minin's expertise is evident in every stroke. His career includes a range of achievements such as being the Curator of exhibitions of Christian Arts in Estonia and holding various exhibitions of African-theme paintings in Russia. Minin's commitment to art and culture has led to a myriad of contributions to Russian arts in African countries such as Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Angola. His signature, Minin 96, can be found on the lower right of this captivating piece.

Jaan Tuuling (1930 – 1998) was a renowned Estonian artist, best known for his work "Linnatänav puudega" (1957). This piece, an oil on cardboard measuring 13.9 x 17.5 cm, is a beautiful representation of his unique style. The artwork is signed with a pencil on the reverse - J. Tuuling 1957. This piece comes directly from the artist's family collection. Tuuling graduated from the Estonian State Art Institute in 1961, specializing in painting. He worked as an art teacher in a Tallinn school with an art bias and also as an advertising poster artist. Jaan Tuuling was a member of the Estonian Art Fund and participated in several exhibitions both domestically and abroad. His works are highly valued and can be found predominantly in private collections worldwide, including in Sweden, Switzerland, Russia, France, Finland, and the United States.

Watercolour masterpiece created by M.Fuks, this remarkable piece measuring 28.7 x 19.1 captures an unseen vision of the artist's talent. The sketch was meant for the cover of a textbook that unfortunately has never been published. On the reverse of the artwork, the text confirms the authorship by M.Fuks. Born in 1921 in Leningrad and later moving to Estonia, Fuks's career in art is expansive. Having worked in different schools and studios and being a member of the Union of Artists of Estonia since 1955, Fuks has illustrated numerous books for children and youth, textbooks, magazines, newspapers, created posters, city landscapes, still-lifes, and portraits. In 1947, Fuks became the author of the sketch of a badge and a breastplate for the First Holiday of a Song in the Estonian Soviet Socialist Republic.
