€1370
Anatoli Strahhov (b. 1946) is a renowned collector and builder. His work, “Ehitaja” (2020), is a stunning piece of oil, tempera, collage, and canvas, measuring 41 x 68 cm. Strahhov studied at the Tshinvali Art School from 1963 to 1967 and at the Estonian SSR State Art Institute from 1971 to 1976. He currently lives and works in Tallinn and is a member of the Estonian Artists’ Union and the Estonian Russian Artists’ Association. Since 1975, he has participated in national and international exhibitions. His annual solo exhibitions have been held in galleries and exhibition halls in Estonia and abroad. His works are housed in private collections in the USA, Finland, Italy, France, Japan, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Russia, and Estonia. Strahhov’s works, which skillfully create the impression of different materials and textures, balance conservatism and experiment, tradition and exoticism, expressive materiality and ephemeralness on a strange border, contain elusive textures and meanings that never fully open. He has participated in more than 30 solo and group exhibitions.
