Aavik, Priidu (1905 – 1991). The factory (1960s)
Experience the raw intensity and vivid colors of Priidu Aavik's Colored Chalk on Black Paper. This masterpiece, titled "The Factory (1960s)," showcases Aavik's mastery of composition and passion for the industrial revolution. Measuring 57.3 x 35.7cm, it's a captivating piece that reflects Aavik's artistic journey. Trained at A.Lajkmaa's studio and the renowned Art School "Pallas," Aavik has held key positions at Tartu Art Institute and the Art Fund in Tallinn. He also improved his craft in Paris in 1939. Pihelga, Agu (1910 – 1998). Kivatši Waterfall in Karelia. (1968)
This exquisite oil on canvas painting titled "Kivatši Waterfall in Karelia" is a masterpiece by the renowned artist Agu Pihelga, dating back to 1968. Measuring 54 x 73 cm, it prominently features Pihelga's signature on the lower right as "A.Pihelga 68". The reverse side of the painting offers further insights, inscribed with "Agu Pihelga Kivatši kosk Karjalas õli, lõuend 1968. 54 x 73". Pihelga graduated from the State Art Industrial School in 1934 and was mentored by R. Nyman and A. Jansen. He further honed his skills in Helsinki between 1936 and 1939 under the guidance of W. Lonnberg. Agu Pihelga’s career spanned decades, teaching at the Estonian State Art Institute from 1946 to 1980. Elevated to the position of assistant professor in 1961, he was notably influenced by the impressionist style, often showcasing it in his landscape and cityscape paintings. Pihelga's remarkable works are housed in prestigious locations, including the Russian Museum in St. Petersburg and the State Art Museum of Kyrghyzstan in Bishkek.
Allsalu Efraim. (1929 – 2006). White Peony. (1979)
Efraim Allsalu's "White Peony" (1979) is a remarkable oil painting on cardboard that measures 27.5 x 27.5 cm. E. Allsalu, a graduate of the State Art Institute in 1954, has a profound ability to reveal the deep psychology of his subjects. His portraits resonate with emotion, while his landscapes and still lifes are alive with temperament and cheerfulness. This piece, signed lower left as "E.Allsalu 79," captures a vibrancy and elegance that speaks to Allsalu's skill and creativity.
Büchtger, Robert (1862 – 1951). Winter Landscape. (Late 19th early 20th century)
Oil on canvas painting by Robert Büchtger, titled "Winter Landscape." This beautiful piece, measuring 90 x 116 cm, is signed lower left by Rob. Büchtger. A renowned landscape painter, portraitist, and illustrator, R. Büchtger's career spanned St. Petersburg, Riga, and Munich. Apprenticed to notable Russian artists Gavriil Kondratenko and Ivan Shishkin, he later moved to Munich, where he lived till his life's end. This landscape painting exemplifies his skill and mastery as a Munich artist of the late 19th and early 20th century.

Pikk has a distinguished career, having worked in notable establishments like the Artistic Products Combination, the Estonian State Publishers, and the editorial office of Täheke. Starting from 1981, Pikk took to freelance artistry. Being a significant member of the Estonian Association of Journalists since 1961 and joining the Estonian Artists' Association in 1967, his legacy includes a plethora of cheerful decorative drawings illustrating children's books.
