Weber' on the lower left. On the reverse, the painting bears Weber's full name and details regarding its purchase and authentication in Berlin in 1937. Born in Munich, Paul Braig is a French painter. Paul Braig studied at the Munich Academy and in 1923-1924 at the Bauhaus in Dessau under Kandinsky and Klee, then in France at the rich and powerful school of Roger Bissière. His movement - Expressionism. But according to critic Gérald Schurr, it is Expressionism that is endowed with "a certain tenderness and oriental sensuality". To this can be added his free, skillful brushstrokes, which often made him a remarkable portraitist and a highly sought-after poster artist. He was rightly considered the Courbet of our time – modernized, that is! Working in France, Italy and other countries.
Pulst, August (1889 – 1977). Apples with Vase. (1973)
Immerse yourself in the elegant world of August Pulst with "Apples with Vase" (1973). This exquisite watercolour painting on paper measures 42 x 62.2 cm and features Pulst's signature in the lower right corner (A. Pulst1973). On the reverse, you can find additional details confirming its authenticity. August Pulst's training at Riga Art School during 1911-15 under V. Purvitis, V. Tillbergs, and B. Borchert laid the foundation for his artistic expression. His work includes theatre decoration, folklore collection, and museum establishment in Estonia. Since 1919, Pulst's art has been exhibited widely, showcasing landscapes, flowers, and views of the old town. His style often reflects an ethnographical touch, making this piece a unique addition to any art collection.
Paas, Otto (1918-1987). Urban Landscape. (1948)
This evocative urban landscape painting by Otto Paas reflects the artist's profound connection to the cities he lived in. Rendered on masonite, its dimensions measure 45 x 60 cm, and it is distinctly signed in the lower right corner with "48. O. Paas". Otto Paas, a significant name in 20th-century art, had to emigrate to Sweden in 1944 to continue his artistic journey. His foundational education was at "Pallas" between 1938-1944, after which he sought further enhancement in Paris by 1954. With his works being showcased in various exhibitions across Sweden and the United States, this piece stands as a testament to his unique vision and undying passion for art.
