Alas Arnold (1911 – 1990). Yerevan Suburb. (1958)

Loik Ilme, born in 1939 in Vahastus, Raplamaa, is a renowned artist who has made significant contributions to the art world. He completed his education at Tartu Art School in 1968 as an artist-decorator and later in 1974, he graduated from the Estonian State Art Academy as a ceramist. He has worked as an artist-decorator in Tallinn at the Cafes-Restaurants Trust and as an artist at the ARS art combine in porcelain painting. Currently, he is engaged as a freelance artist in painting and porcelain. He has exhibited his works in Estonia and Finland. The artwork is an oil painting on cardboard, measuring 46 x 70 cm, signed on the bottom left as Ilme Loik 2016.

This breathtaking landscape from the 1950s reflects the influence of French postimpressionism and the “Noor Eesti” (“Young Estonia”) group on Murakin's art. Measuring 26.6 x 32.2 vm, it's signed in the lower right as A.Murakin. Ants Murakin's career spans many years, including work at N. Laikmaa's lithographic shop, studies under R. von Mulen, and travels to Budapest and Vienna. He has exhibited in locations such as Tartu, Riga, Kaunas, Rome, Budapest, Antwerp, Norkeping, and Stockholm. Murakin's landscapes and city views remain celebrated and continue to inspire art enthusiasts globally.
