Saare, Raimo (1923 – 1995). Baleriin. (1964)

Presenting "Baleriin" (1964) by Raimo Saare (1923 – 1995), a remarkable oil painting on canvas, bearing the signature R. Saare 1964.a. at the lower left. Saare's illustrious career started at Tartu State Art Institute in 1947, culminating with graduation from ERKI in 1953. His extensive involvement in the arts includes working as an artist at the Tartu Cultural Center (1953-1954), in the Tartu Department of the Art Fund (1954-1967), and as a painting teacher in Tartu Art School (1967-1992). A member of the Union of Artists since 1963, Saare's legacy continues to inspire. "Baleriin" captures his unique artistic essence, offering a glimpse into his profound connection to creativity and visual expression.
Kimm Ilmar (1920 – 2011): A Journey Through Art and Education
Kimm Ilmar, a renowned artist, was born in 1920 and passed away in 2011. He completed his art studies in the I. Repin Art Institute in 1948, specializing in painting. From 1948 to 1951, he was a faculty member at the Tartu State Art Institute and from 1952 to 1988, he taught at ERKI in Tallinn (from 1954 as an associate professor, from 1965 as a professor, from 1963 to 1983 as the head of the painting department, and from 1983 to 1988 as a consulting professor). Kimm Ilmar has practiced all painting genres, with a particular focus on historical and work-themed figure compositions and portraits. His artwork "Rand" (1982) is an oil on canvas painting, measuring 54 x 73 cm. The signature "I. Kimm 82" can be found on the bottom right of the painting.

Watercolor painter, born in 1912 in Harjumaa, Loksa. Died in 2011. In 1930-1934 he studied trumpet at the Tallinn Conservatory.
From 1944 to 1951 he continued his studies at ERKI in painting with Johannes Grenberg and Lepo Mikko.
In 1958 he presented his first exhibition. In 1957-1958, his cartoons were published in the PIKKER magazine. Member of the Union of Estonian Artists since 1959. Participated in spring and autumn exhibitions in Tallinn, watercolor exhibitions in Tallinn and Moscow, watercolor triennial in Riga. A total of seven solo exhibitions. Worked as a freelancer. The main part of his work is landscape painting, mainly depicting the sea and autumn nature, he also cultivated composition and still life portraits. Soft, melting shades are used, achieved by mixing colors when wet.
