Ohakas, Valdur (1925 – 1998) Self – Portrait. (1942 – 48).

Oil on plywood, the self-portrait of Valdur Okhakas, captures the essence of an era, painted during his training at either the Tallinn School of Fine and Applied Arts or the Tartu Art Institute between 1944-48. A leading figure in Estonian art during the 20th century, Ohakas's work resonates with history and his personal journey. His background, including time in a Siberian prison camp (1949-1956), and his association with the renowned Pallas school, form a vital part of his artistic identity. Despite a tragic fire in 1991 that destroyed many of his creations, Ohakas's love for drawing remained undiminished. His drawings, filled with inspiration and moods, are as fresh and real as the artist's breath, reflecting the power and critical stance against established art norms.
Murakin, Ants (1892 – 1975). Landscape. (1950s)

Watercolour painting on paper by Ants Murakin. This breathtaking landscape from the 1950s reflects the influence of French postimpressionism and the “Noor Eesti” (“Young Estonia”) group on Murakin's art. Measuring 26.6 x 32.2 vm, it's signed in the lower right as A.Murakin. Ants Murakin's career spans many years, including work at N. Laikmaa's lithographic shop, studies under R. von Mulen, and travels to Budapest and Vienna. He has exhibited in locations such as Tartu, Riga, Kaunas, Rome, Budapest, Antwerp, Norkeping, and Stockholm. Murakin's landscapes and city views remain celebrated and continue to inspire art enthusiasts globally.
Jegorov, Andrei (1878-1954). Landscape with Sledge. (1930s)

Presenting an exquisite piece of art "Landscape with Sledge" (1930s) by the renowned artist Andrei Jegorov. Painted using tempera on paper, this masterpiece measures 33 x 48 cm and features Jegorov's signature in the lower right. From the collection of Julius Gens, the artwork represents Jegorov's brilliant artistic journey, starting from his studies at the School of the Society for Promoting Arts in St. Petersburg to his achievements at the Academy of Arts. As a student of I.Repin and D.Kardovsky, and a member of the A.Kuindzhi Society from 1911, Jegorov exhibited his works in Russia and Estonia. He was a prominent figure in the Watercolour Artists Society and the “Peredvizhniki” Union, leaving an indelible mark on the art world.
Strahhov Anatoli (s. 1946). Varajane kevad (2023)

Artist: Anatoli Strahhov, born in 1946, is a renowned artist who studied at Tshinvali Art School from 1963 to 1967 and at the Estonian SSR State Art Institute from 1971 to 1976. He currently lives and works in Tallinn. Strahhov is a member of the Estonian Artists' Union and the Estonian Russian Artists' Association. He has been participating in national and international exhibitions since 1975. His annual solo exhibitions have been held in galleries and exhibition halls in Estonia and abroad. His works are in private collections in the USA, Finland, Italy, France, Japan, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Russia, and Estonia. Strahhov's works, which skillfully create the impression of different materials and textures, balance conservatism and experiment, tradition and exoticism, expressive materiality and ephemeralness on a strange border, contain elusive textures and meanings, never fully opening. He has participated in more than 30 solo and group exhibitions. The artwork "Varajane kevad (2023)" is an oil and tempera on canvas, measuring 39 x 62 cm, signed A. Strahhov 2023 on the right.
