Studied in Tartu from 1906 to 1909 under P. Myunhhen and in K. Raud’s Studio then continued his studies in St.Petersburg from 1910 to 1920 (Studio of V.Mate’ in 1915 and 1916, under A.Rylov in 1918). As a grant – aided student he got the opportunity to travel to Vienna.
Arnold Vihvelin participated in many exhibitions in Estonia, Russia, Germany and Finland.
Anne Parmasto’s “Vananaiste suvi. August (2016)”
Anne Parmasto, born in 1952, is a renowned artist known for her unique neopop style. She graduated from ERKI in 1981 with a qualification in theatre decoration. Parmasto's work is characterized by her distinctive use of color and she has also painted in a more traditional style. She has received numerous awards for her work. Her art can be found in the Estonian Art Museum, Tartu Art Museum, and private collections in Austria, Belgium, Estonia, Luxembourg, France, Sweden, Germany, Switzerland, Finland, the USA, Russia, and more. The piece "Vananaiste suvi. August (2016)" is an oil on canvas painting, measuring 27 x 35 cm, signed AP on the bottom right.
Hampe, Guido (1839 – 1902). Mountain Lake. (Last third of the 19th century)
This breathtaking oil on canvas piece titled "Mountain Lake" beautifully captures the essence of nature's tranquility. Measuring 40 x 54, this masterpiece was crafted by the esteemed German landscape painter, Paul Friedrich Gustav Guido Hampe. He was renowned for his evocative landscapes inspired by regions such as Thuringia, the Black Forest, and Switzerland. Hampe's extensive travels took him to picturesque locales in Greece, Italy, and Spain, enriching his artistic perspective. The painting carries a dedication on the reverse, reading "Guido Hampe 1839 - 1891 Bergsee". A part of his illustrious journey, Hampe presented his works at significant institutions like the Royal Prussian Academy of Arts, Dresden, and Frankfurt am Main. This piece is not only a testament to Hampe's artistic prowess but also a window into the serene landscapes that shaped his work.
