Evald Sagur (1922 – 1987): “Asalea potis” (1979) Watercolor Painting

Evald Sagur (1922 - 1987) was a renowned artist known for his mastery in watercolor painting. His work, "Asalea potis" (1979), is a testament to his skill and creativity. The piece, measuring 46.5 x 33 cm, is a watercolor on thin cardboard, signed on the bottom right as E. Sagur 79. Sagur completed his education at the State Industrial School in 1940 and later graduated from the Tallinn State Institute of Applied Art in 1950. He worked as a lecturer at ERKI and then at the Cinematography Main Administration. He began exhibiting his work in 1960, designed posters, and contributed as a designer to the Pioneer magazine. He was a member of the Artists' Union from 1962. His first solo exhibition took place in 1963 at the Sõprus cinema in Tallinn. Sagur's watercolor paintings, which he mastered, were often vibrant and decorative.

Kaire Tali graduated from the Estonian Academy of Arts in 1983 as a textile artist. One of the most famous Estonian textile artists, a member of the "Free Will" group. This flowing treatment of watercolor is from her motifs to tapestries and fabrics.

He was born in 1968 in Kiev, graduated from the Institute of Applied Arts and Design there in 1988 as an artist-designer, and in 1994 – from the State Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture as a monumental painter. His teachers were well-known painters-academicians V.Zabaštõ, V.Storoženko. Since 1998 he has been a member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine.
D.Dobrovolsky’s first solo exhibition took place in Kiev in 1994. Over the next almost twenty years of his creative career, the artist has participated in more than 20 local and international exhibitions: in Ukraine – Kiev, in the United Kingdom – London, Cambridge and Edinburgh, in Germany – Kassel, in Russia – Moscow, in the USA – Chicago, in Estonia – Tallinn and Kuressaare. His works can be found in museums and private collections in European countries, the USA, and Canada.
Lepik, Hugo (1905 – 2001). Small Houses in Mountains. (1950s)

Hugo Lepik's watercolour masterpiece, "Small Houses in Mountains" (1950s), showcases his affinity for deep and vigorous coloring. This 33.5 x 46cm piece, marked by H.Lepik on the lower left, is a fine example of his portrayal of Estonian landscapes and pictures of Sweden and Norway. Lepik graduated from the State Industrial and Art School in 1929, and further honed his skills in Germany, Italy, Finland, and Canada. Emigrating to Sweden in 1944, Lepik gained fame for his superbly painted portraits, and his works have been exhibited in various cities around the world including Riga, Kaunas (1937), Antwerp, Rome, Budapest (1939), Stockholm (1946), Montreal (1951), and Sweden.
Knobloch, Joseph Rolf (1891 – 1964). Rocky Seashore (1920 -30s)

This exquisite oil on canvas, titled "Rocky Seashore", measures 60.2 x 80 and is the work of the celebrated artist Josef Rolf Knobloch. The artist has signed it on the lower right as "J.Rolf Knobloch München". Knobloch, who underwent formal training at the Art School in Liebwerda and later at the Technical University in Munich, has been showcasing his works since 1915. He was a frequent exhibitor at the Glass Palace in Munich. Landscapes were among his preferred subjects, and this artwork stands as a testament to his profound love for nature and his impeccable skill in capturing its essence.
