Schmitt, Oscar (1825 – 1871). Wine Cellar (1860s)
Oscar Schmitt's "Wine Cellar (1860s)" is a captivating oil on wood masterpiece that portrays a moment frozen in time from the 19th century. Measuring 46 x 38, the piece dives deep into the allure of wine cellars of the era, a theme magnified by the widespread influence of the legend of Faust. The authenticity of the artwork is further corroborated by the signature on its reverse, bearing the name and lifespan of the renowned German genre painter, Oscar Schmitt (1825 – 1871).
Burman, Karl the Younger (1914-2001). In Shop. (1947).
Watercolour on paper by Karl Burman Jr. (1914–2001), a celebrated watercolourist hailing from a distinguished family of artists in Estonia. Known for his distinctive watercolour technique, Burman Jr. dedicated his life to capturing evocative cityscapes, inspired by his enthusiastic interest in architecture. His architectural studies at the University of Tartu and the Tallinn Institute of Technology further fueled his passion, leading him to become one of the most prominent watercolourists from the 1950s to the 1990s. This 1947 masterpiece titled "In Shop" measures 37 x 40.5 cm, and is signed in the lower right by Karl Burman Junior. He received art education from his father, Karl Burman the Elder, and uncle Paul Burman, famous names in Estonian art, and continued his artistic journey at the Moscow Art Institute. Karl Burman the Younger played an instrumental role in organizing the Union of Estonian Artists in Yaroslavl in 1943.
Plückebaum, Carl (Каrl) (1880 – 1952). Taken a rest. (1910 -years)

Hailing from Düsseldorf, Germany, Carl became renowned not only as a painter but also an engraver. He was notably an apprentice to esteemed Estonian artists Jansen and Gebhardt. Carl was particularly adept at child's portrait painting, though he also possessed a penchant for crafting still-lifes, flower compositions, and animal imagery. His work reflects a harmonious collaboration with his wife, Meta Pluckebaum, a recognized author and integral partner in his artistic journey.
Habicht, Ülo (1923 – 1991). Flowers. (1988)
Introducing "Flowers" (1988) by Ülo Habicht, a mesmerizing pastel on paper that beautifully captures the essence of nature. Measuring 58 x 46 cm, this artwork is signed by the artist in the lower right corner. Ülo Habicht, born in Tallinn in 1923, was a prominent figure in the Estonian art scene. He was educated at the State School of Art and Design and the Estonian SSR State Art Institute. Habicht's diverse legacy includes book designs, paintings, posters, interior designs, and large-scale exhibition designs, such as the International Book Exhibition in Moscow. With its vivid details and captivating aura, this piece is a testament to Behrens' journey from Riga to Rome, Florence, Vienna, and Paris. This artwork, signed by Behrens on the lower right, is not just a painting; it's a piece of history that reflects the essence of European artistry in the 1940s and 50s.
Lepik, Hugo (1905 – 2001). Herradura. Spain. (1950s)
A striking piece titled "Herradura, Spain" (1950s) by Hugo Lepik (1905 - 2001), rendered in both watercolor and charcoal on paper. Measuring 25.3 x 32.5 cm, it showcases H. Lepik's signature style, marked by deep and vigorous coloring. Hugo Lepik's landscapes of Estonia, Sweden, and Norway are renowned, and his portraits are equally celebrated. Educated at the State Industrial and Art School in 1929, Lepik furthered his skills across the globe, including Germany, Italy, Finland, and Canada. The artist emigrated to Sweden in 1944, and his works were displayed in cities such as Riga, Kaunas (1937), Antwerp, Rome, Budapest (1939), Stockholm (1946), Montreal (1951), and various Swedish cities.
