Mei, Natalie (1900–1975). Sketch for a Costume. Kalman “Maritsa” (1935)
Natalie Mei's "Sketch for a Costume. Kalman "Maritsa" (1935)" stands as a testament to her prolific career as one of Estonia's leading graphics and theatrical designers. This watercolour on paper, measuring 28.2 x 18.4 cm, reflects Mei's deep connection to theatre, with her extraordinary work extending to renowned productions like "Romeo and Juliet," "Boris Godunov," "Princess Turandot," and "Carmen." With delicate strokes and an expert understanding of form, the piece conveys Mei's unique style and captures a moment in the theatrical world that continues to inspire. It is signed in the upper left as "Mariza."
Lembit Saarts (1924 -2016). Suvine Vooremaa motiiv. Kavand. (1980)
Lembit Saarts (1924 -2016) was a renowned artist known for his unique, abstract, bright, and airy style of painting. Born in Tartumaa, he studied at the Tartu Higher Courses of Visual Arts from 1942-44 and at the Tartu State Art Institute from 1944-48. He has been exhibiting his work since 1958 and held personal exhibitions at the Tallinn Art Salon in 1971 and the Tartu Art Museum in 1974. He was a member of the KL from 1959 and painted portraits, landscapes, and compositions, including non-figurative ones. Saarts worked as an artist at the Tartu experimental repair factory from 1966 to 1984. This piece, "Suvine Vooremaa Motiiv" (Summer Vooremaa Motif), is a typical example of Saarts' style. It was created in 1980 and measures 22.5 x 32.4 cm. The work comes from the artist's family collection.
Einmann, Eduard (1913 – 1982). Late Summer in the Studio. (1975)

Maaser, Eduard (1916 – 1990). Kind on Kunda. (1943)
This stunning watercolor piece titled "Kind on Kunda" was created by Eduard Maaser in 1943. Measuring 49.8 x 69 cm, the artwork is marked lower right with "Ed. Maaser Kundas, 10. X 1943". Born in Russia in 1916 and later settling in Tartu, where he died in 1990, Maaser was a prominent artist with an extensive education in painting. He graduated from the Tartu State Art Institute and made significant contributions to art, mainly focusing on watercolors. His works capture the essence of southern Estonia, and his legacy continues through various exhibitions. Peil, Voldemar (1907 – 1999). In a Court Yard of Farm. (1960-70)
Oil on canvas pasted on a cardboard by the renowned artist Voldemar Peil, depicting the evocative scene "In a Court Yard of Farm" from the 1960-70 era. Voldemar Peil, a student of I.Vahtra, V.Mellik, V.Ormisson, and A.Vabbe at the “Pallas” Art School in Tartu, has crafted this masterpiece with utmost intricacy and passion. His rich history includes work with Moscow and Leningrad theatres and various Drama Theatres in Estonia. In 1968, Peil was awarded the title of the People's Artist of Estonia. Besides being a stage designer, he also exhibited a keen interest in landscapes and portraits, with his works being displayed at numerous exhibitions. In 1978, a personal exhibition of his works took place in Moscow at the House of Scientists. This piece is not only a part of art history but a testament to Peil's extraordinary artistic capabilities.
