Strahhov, Anatoli (s. 1946). Kabuki maskid (2023)

Artist: Anatoli Strahhov, a renowned artist who studied at Tshinvali Art School from 1963 to 1967 and at the Estonian SSR State Art Institute from 1971 to 1976. He currently lives and works in Tallinn. Strahhov is a member of the Estonian Artists' Union and the Estonian Russian Artists' Association. He has been exhibiting at national and international exhibitions since 1975. His annual solo exhibitions have taken place in galleries and exhibition halls in Estonia and abroad. His works are in private collections in the USA, Finland, Italy, France, Japan, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Russia, and Estonia. Strahhov's works, which skillfully create the impression of different materials and textures, balance conservatism and experiment, tradition and exoticism, expressive materiality and ephemeral border, contain elusive textures and meanings, never fully opening. He has participated in more than 30 solo and group exhibitions. The artwork "Kabuki Maskid" is an oil and tempera on cardboard, measuring 21 x 26 cm, and is signed by the artist.

Ilmar Ojalo (1910–1989) was an Estonian painter and restorer. In the 1930s, Ojalo studied at the Art School of the Finnish Art Association in Helsinki. In 1939, he first exhibited at an art exhibition in Finland and in March 1940 in Estonia. Later, he worked as a restorer at the Tartu Art Museum. In 1951, he was arrested for preserving caricatures and anti-Soviet literature that had appeared in newspapers during the German occupation. He served his sentence first in the Vasalemma prison camp, and later in the Perm region. After his release in 1955, Ilmar Ojalo was appointed as an artist-restorer at the Scientific Restoration Workshop in Tallinn. He restored several masterpieces, including The Wedding of Cana (1597) and the Mary's Winged Altar of the Tallinn Blackheads.

Aleksander Promet, a distinguished artist, began his art journey in St.Petersburg at the renowned Shtiglits School. Jaan Tuuling graduated from the Estonian State Institute of Art in 1961 with a degree in painting. He has worked as an art teacher in an art school in Tallinn and also as an artist of advertising posters. Jaan Tuuling was a member of the Estonian Art Foundation. He participated in several exhibitions both in Estonia and abroad. His works are highly regarded and are mostly found in private collections around the world, including in Sweden, Switzerland, Russia, France, Finland and the United States.

Esinenud vabariiklikel ja rahvusvahelistel näitustel 1975.aastast. Igaaastased isikunäitused on toimunud nii Eesti kui ka välismaa galeriides ja näitusesaalides. Teoseid on USA, Soome, Itaalia, Prantsusmaa, Jaapani , Saksamaa, Taani, Rootsi, Venemaa ning Eesti erakogudes. „ Anatoli Strahhovi tööd, mis loovad virtuooslikult mulje erinevatest materjalidest ja tekstuuridest, balansseerivad konservatiivsuse ja eksperimendi, traditsioonilisuse ja eksootika, väljendusrikka materiaalsuse ja efemeersuse kummalisel piiril, kätkevad tabamatult värelevaid faktuure ja tähendusi, avanemata kunagi lõpuni.“ On esinenud enam kui 30 isiku- ja grupinäitusel.
