Oil on cardboard by Georges Becker, a renowned French painter and disciple of the illustrious artist Jean-Léon Gérôme. A graduate from the Julian Academy of Paris, Becker was invited to Russia by the Romanov Imperial House, where he primarily focused on portraiture and painting on commission for the Imperial family. One of his most notable pieces, "The Coronation of Emperor Alexander III and the Empress Alexandra Feodorovna" from 1888, is currently housed in the State Hermitage.

Created at the end of the 19th century and signed at the bottom left as "H. Buchner," this oval piece measures 70.5 x 100. Buchner's artistic journey led him to study at the academies in Stuttgart under Jakob Grünewald and Carl von Häberlin, as well as at the Academy in Munich under Alexander Wagner. Living in Munich since 1880, he participated in exhibitions in the "Munich glass palace" (1906) and the Munich Secession (1908). Through his life, Buchner's works have been known for their detailed near representations, category scenes, and beautiful motives of flower.

Evald Sagur’s Watercolor Painting

Artist: Evald Sagur, a renowned artist who completed his education from the State Industrial School in 1940 and the Tallinn State Institute of Applied Art in 1950. Sagur has worked as a lecturer at ERKI and later at the Cinematography Main Administration. He started exhibiting his work in art exhibitions from 1960. Sagur designed posters and contributed as a designer to the Pioneer magazine. He has been a member of the Artists' Union since 1962. His first solo exhibition took place in 1963 at the Sõprus cinema in Tallinn. Sagur specialized in watercolor painting, a technique he mastered. He exhibited his watercolor works at exhibitions, demonstrating a high level of skill in this technique, which resulted in colorful decorative works. The painting is a watercolor on paper, measuring 33 x 47 cm, and is signed 'E. Sagur 78' at the bottom right.
