Vihvelin, Arnold (1892-1962). Town Hall Square in the Winter. (1950s)
This exquisite watercolor painting, "Town Hall Square in the Winter" (1950s), by renowned artist Arnold Vihvelin, presents a vivid and atmospheric depiction of Raekoja plats, Tallinn. Measuring 38.5 x 48 cm, the piece showcases Vihvelin's delicate handling of watercolors on paper, signed lower right as P.A.Vihvelin and noted on the reverse. Arnold Vihvelin's education includes studying in Tartu under P.Myunhhen and K.Raud's Studio (1906-1909), and St. Petersburg under notable artists V. Mate' and A.Rylov (1910-1920). A grant-aided student, Vihvelin also had the opportunity to travel to Vienna. He participated in exhibitions across Estonia, Russia, Germany, and Finland. Uiga, Johannes (1918 – 1998). Flowers. (1978)
Johannes Uiga, the renowned Estonian artist, presents "Flowers" (1978), a stunning oil on cardboard painting. Measuring 27.8 x 22.5 cm, this piece captures the essence of South Estonian landscapes. Jaan Paris (1927 – 2007).
This exquisite Oil on Cardboard painting by Jaan Paris depicts the beautiful cityscape of Tallinn, showcasing the historic Commandant's House and the famous Kik in de Kök tower. Painted in 1958, the piece measures 27 х 32.5 cm and is signed by the artist in the lower right corner. Jaan Paris, who graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts painting department in 1966, was renowned for his landscape paintings. His work was exhibited during his time at the Academy, marking him as a talented artist even in his early years. He was married to the Tartu artist Helle-Reet Vahersalu. Burman, Karl the Younger (1914-2001). Tallinn. (1956)
This exquisite watercolour painting on paper by Karl Burman the Younger showcases his brilliant artistry and technique. Measuring 27.5 x 39 cm, the painting was signed by the artist himself in 1956. Burman's art education started in Tallinn under the tutelage of K. Winkler, then extended to Moscow's Stroganov School of Technical Drawing, and eventually to St. Petersburg's Shtiglits Art School. From 1902 to 1907, he studied architecture at the Petersburg Academy of Arts. His unique blend of artistic vision and architectural training is vividly depicted in this piece. Ideal for art enthusiasts and collectors, this piece reflects the pinnacle of Burman's career.
