Lepik, Hugo (1905 – 2001). The Alpine Violets. (1950s)
Hugo Lepik's masterpiece "The Alpine Violets" from the 1950s showcases his exceptional talent in painting landscapes, capturing the deep and vigorous coloring that is characteristic of his works. This oil on canvas, measuring 41.5 x 33.5 cm, features beautiful scenes from Estonia and images from Sweden and Norway. Lepik, a graduate of the State Industrial and Art School, traveled extensively to enhance his skills, eventually emigrating to Sweden in 1944. His mastery is not limited to landscapes; he also excelled in portraits. His works have been exhibited in various cities, including Riga, Kaunas, Antwerp, Rome, Budapest, Stockholm, Montreal, and throughout Sweden.
Eist, Aksel (1930 – 2000). Still-life with Lemons. (1970s)
Indulge in the vibrant play of colors and textures in the masterpiece "Still-life with Lemons" painted by Aksel Eist in the 1970s. This oil on canvas reveals the artist's skill in portraying everyday objects with grace and passion. The contrasting colors and expertly depicted lemons bring life to any room. Jaan Tuuling graduated from the Estonian State Institute of Arts in 1961 with a degree in painting. He has worked as an art teacher in an art school in Tallinn and also as an artist of advertising posters. Jaan Tuuling was a member of the Estonian Art Foundation. He participated in several exhibitions both in Estonia and abroad. His works are highly regarded and are mostly found in private collections around the world, including in Sweden, Switzerland, Russia, France, Finland and the United States.
Valdov, Eevi (1947 – 2005). Composition of Flowers. (2000)
This striking pastel artwork "Composition of Flowers" from the year 2000 captures the delicate beauty and vibrancy of flowers in full bloom. Crafted meticulously by Eevi Valdov, the composition is a testament to the artist's prowess and finesse. The signature "E Valdov2000" can be spotted at the lower right, certifying its authenticity.
Seubert (Seufert?) Bird, Cherry and Raspberry Branch. (1871)
Watercolour painting on cardboard featuring a bird resting on a cherry and raspberry branch. A beautiful representation of nature's grace, the artwork comes alive with vivid colors and meticulous detailing. Signed in the lower right by the artist, it is a testament to the talent and skills of Seubert (or Seufert?), bringing the tranquility and beauty of nature right into your living space.
Wagner, Theodor (1800 – 1880). Külatee kevadel. (1860 – 70. aastad)
Oil on canvas painting, titled "Külatee kevadel" from 1860-70 by renowned Viennese artist Th. Wagner, otherwise known as Georg Fischhof. Measuring 58 x 79 cm, this beautiful landscape piece is signed lower left with Th. Wagner, reflecting the artist's mastery in the late 19th century. Fischhof, who studied at both the Viennese Art School and the Munich School, employed various pseudonyms, and this particular artwork is an example of his talent in capturing the essence of nature.
Anatoli Strahhov: A Virtuoso of Different Materials and Textures
Anatoli Strahhov (b. 1946) is a renowned artist and collector, known for his virtuoso ability to create impressions of different materials and textures. His works, which balance conservatism and experimentation, traditionalism and exoticism, expressive materiality and ephemeral boundaries, contain elusive textures and meanings that never fully reveal themselves. Strahhov studied at the Tshinvali Art School from 1963 to 1967 and at the Estonian SSR State Art Institute from 1971 to 1976. He lives and works in Tallinn and is a member of the Estonian Artists' Union and the Estonian Russian Artists' Association. He has been exhibiting in national and international exhibitions since 1975. His annual solo exhibitions have taken place in both Estonian and foreign galleries and exhibition halls. His works can be found in private collections in the USA, Finland, Italy, France, Japan, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Russia, and Estonia. He has participated in more than 30 solo and group exhibitions.
