Jaan Tuuling (1930 – 1998) was a renowned Estonian artist, best known for his painting “Rannamaastik Tallinna lähedal (1956)”. This oil on cardboard piece measures 12 x 17 cm and is signed on the reverse with a pencil – J. Tuuling 1956. The artwork comes directly from the artist’s family collection. Tuuling graduated from the Estonian State Art Institute in 1961, specializing in painting. He worked as an art teacher in a Tallinn school with an art bias and also as a commercial poster artist. Jaan Tuuling was a member of the Estonian Art Fund and participated in several exhibitions both domestically and abroad. His works are highly valued and can be found predominantly in private collections worldwide, including in Sweden, Switzerland, Russia, France, Finland, and the United States.
