Erich Pehap (1912-1981) was a renowned artist known for his unique style and technique. This particular piece, “Paadisadamas” (1978), is a cardboard print of boats in B.C., measuring 42 x 32 cm. The print is signed on the right by E. Pehap 1978 and numbered 14/15 on the left. Pehap studied painting under N. Triigi and graphics under A. Laigo and R. Vaher at “Pallas”, graduating in 1939. During the war, he moved to Finland, then Sweden, and finally settled in Toronto in 1949. He was a member of several international art associations, including the International Institute of Arts and Letters (Switzerland), World Print Council (USA), and an honorary member of the Academia Internazionale di Roma. He received numerous awards throughout his career.
