Hugo Lepik’s masterpiece “The Alpine Violets” from the 1950s showcases his exceptional talent in painting landscapes, capturing the deep and vigorous coloring that is characteristic of his works. This oil on canvas, measuring 41.5 x 33.5 cm, features beautiful scenes from Estonia and images from Sweden and Norway. Lepik, a graduate of the State Industrial and Art School, traveled extensively to enhance his skills, eventually emigrating to Sweden in 1944. His works have been exhibited in various cities, including Riga, Kaunas, Antwerp, Rome, Budapest, Stockholm, Montreal, and throughout Sweden.
