Gouache and charcoal on thick cardboard, this striking 19th-century painting, "Old City in North Africa," was crafted by Ippolito Caffi during his Mediterranean voyage. Known for his romantic landscapes, Caffi was a prominent figure in the Italian art scene and a freedom fighter for Italy. The painting, measuring 28.7 x 23.3 cm, features a lower right red Arabic script (monogram) as a distinct touch. Caffi's fascination with diverse landscapes took him to various regions, leading him to produce works like Carnival at Venice, Panorama of Rome from Monte Mario, and more. This painting encapsulates his love for foreign vistas and stands as a testament to his artistic brilliance.

Valdur Ohakas studied at Tallinn 21st Primary School, Tallinn II Progymnasium, Tallinn Commercial School and Tallinn Evening Technical School. In 1942–1943 he studied at the Tallinn School of Fine and Applied Arts under Eerik Haamer and Johannes Greenberg. In 1943–1944 he was mobilized in the German army. In 1944–1948 he studied at the Tartu State Art Institute under Johannes Võerahansu and Elmar Kitse, but did not finish school, as in 1949 he was arrested with a group of art students and sent to the Vorkuta prison camp in the Karaganda region of the Kazakh SSR. He was released from there in 1956.
He has been exhibiting since 1946, and has been a member of the Estonian Artists' Union since 1959.
Valdur Ohakas participated in the 1960s Estonian art renewal process and interacted closely with Ülo Sooster and many artists from Tartu and Tallinn. The peak of the artist's work was the 1960s–1970s, when romantic landscape visions were central to his diverse work.

Imbi Lind, born in 1930, is a renowned artist known for her bold work as a television artist. She is also the wife of Luulik Kokamäe and the mother of Epp-Maria Kokamäe. Imbi Lind has cultivated various genres of panel painting and created numerous portraits in creative unions. The artwork "Põllulilled" was created in 1990 and is an oil on canvas piece measuring 50 x 40 cm. The signature "I.Lind 83" can be found on the bottom left of the painting, and "Imbi Lind 1990" is inscribed on the upper stretcher frame.

Avo Paistik (1936 - 2013) was a renowned Estonian artist, known for his vibrant and imaginative paintings. This particular piece, "Maastik põleva päikesega ja kadakatega" (2003), is a stunning oil on canvas landscape, measuring 35 x 100 cm. Paistik's signature is located on the bottom left of the painting. Paistik's career began in radio technology, but he soon found his passion in art. He studied at the Tallinn Cultural University's caricature studio and worked at "Tallinnfilm", where he directed several successful animated films. His most famous character, Klaabu, debuted in 1975 and was featured in three films. Paistik's work has been compared to Joan Miró, and his style is loved by fans of his animated films. In 1990, Paistik left the studio to become a pastor, but continued to paint.
