Eduard Maaser, a prominent artist, studied under the guidance of the teachers of Pallas and graduated from the Tartu State Art Institute in 1948. Ilmar Kimm (1920 - 2011) was a renowned artist based in Tallinn and Pärnu. His work, "Tallinn – Pärnu mnt. (1981)" is an oil on canvas masterpiece measuring 81 x 100 cm. The signature "Ilmar Kimm 81" can be found on the lower right of the painting. On the reverse, it reads "Ilmar Kimm Tallinn – Pärnu mnt 1981.a. õ.l. 81 x 100cm". Kimm graduated from the I. Repin Institute of Art in painting in 1948. He was a faculty member at the Tartu State Art Institute from 1948-51 and at ERKI in Tallinn from 1952-88 (from 1954 as an associate professor, from 1965 as a professor, 1963-83 as head of the painting department, and 1983-88 as a consulting professor). He practiced all painting genres, with a particular focus on historical and work-themed figure compositions and portraits.
