Artist: Johannes Võerahansu, a renowned painter who began his artistic journey in 1919 at the Tallinn College. He simultaneously studied at the Ants Laikmaa Studio School until 1921. After his studies, Võerahansu briefly worked as a decoration painter at the Tallinn Drama Studio Theatre and engaged in ceramics at the Türi Brick and Ceramics Factory. He further honed his painting skills at Ado Vabbe’s studio in Pallas from 1932 to 1936, completing the full course in 1940. Võerahansu then served as a lecturer at the Higher Visual Art Calls and the Tartu State Art Institute, the Tartu Art School from 1955 to 1957, and at ERKI in Tallinn from 1957 to 1973. He was a member of the EKKKÜ and has been a member of the Artists’ Union since 1945. The artwork is a charcoal on paper, measuring 41 x 60 cm, and is signed at the bottom right – K J V Gl.
