Alex Kütt (1921 – 1991), a remarkable Estonian artist, created the beautiful piece titled “Pärnu” (1961), sketched meticulously using colour pencil on paper. Measuring 27 x 39 cm, it’s signed lower right as “A.Kütt 61 a.” Kütt studied at the Tallinn State Institute of Applied Arts, graduating in 1949, and taught at the Art Academy of Estonia until 1985. Known for his innovations in electro-colour gravure printing and graphic hot techniques, he often depicted fishermen, landscapes, sports, and war. His early works were close to nature, evolving into a more complex, imaginative decorative style by the latter half of the 1960s.
