Soans, Olev (1925 – 1995). Tallinn (1950s)

This exquisite graphic piece, created by the renowned Estonian artist Olev Soans, reflects the remarkable artistry of the 1950s. Measuring 29.5 x 20.5 cm, the work features the author’s autograph and a note that reads “Noorus 1961/62,” revealing its reproduction in a magazine. Olev Soans, an alumnus of the State Art Institute of Estonia, has an illustrious career as a professor, senior lecturer, and one of the most outstanding graphic artists of his time. Known for his etching techniques, he has crafted numerous historical maps of Estonia and won the prestigious prize named after Kristian Raud in 1985.
