Olev Soans was one of the most outstanding Estonian graphic artists of the 1950s.
Olev Soans graduated from the commercial high school in 1941 in Pärnu. There was a German army mobilized in 1943-44. Worked in 1944-46 as a worker and drawing teacher in Järvakandi. Graduated from the Tallinn State Institute of Applied Art in 1946, graduated from the Estonian Academy of Sciences in 1951. Then he was a freelance professor, from 1961 he was a lecturer at the ERKI (a professor from 1987) and a professor emeritus from 1994. A 1951 Member of the Artists’ Association.
