Soans, Olev (1925 – 1995). Arms Mustla. (1970s)

This exceptional etching on paper, created by renowned Estonian graphic artist Olev Soans, measures 42 x 30cm. Olev Soans graduated from the State Art Institute of Estonia in 1951 and began teaching there in 1961. He has been honored with the titles of senior lecturer in 1979 and professor in 1987. Known as one of Estonia’s most outstanding graphic artists during the 1950s, Soans’s work since 1975 includes numerous maps detailing the history of Estonia, executed with meticulous etching techniques. In 1985, his talent was recognized with a prize named after Kristian Raud.
