Artist: Evald Sagur, a renowned artist who completed his education from the State Industrial School in 1940 and the Tallinn State Institute of Applied Art in 1950. Sagur has worked as a lecturer at ERKI and later at the Cinematography Main Administration. He started exhibiting his work in art exhibitions from 1960. Sagur designed posters and contributed as a designer to the Pioneer magazine. He has been a member of the Artists’ Union since 1962. His first solo exhibition took place in 1963 at the Sõprus cinema in Tallinn. Sagur specialized in watercolor painting, a technique he mastered. He exhibited his watercolor works at exhibitions, demonstrating a high level of skill in this technique, which resulted in colorful decorative works. The painting is a watercolor on paper, measuring 33 x 47 cm, and is signed ‘E. Sagur 78’ at the bottom right.
