Presenting “Old Tallinn. Courtyard on Uus Street” (1966) by August Pulst (1889 – 1977), a stunning watercolor painting on paper, sized 64.4 x 44.5 cm. Signed lower right by A. Pulst in 1966, this work exemplifies the artist’s fascination with landscapes, flowers, and views of old towns. August Pulst’s art education took place at Riga Art School during 1911-15 under V. Purvitis, V. Tillbergs, and B. Borchert. He also worked as a decorator in the theatre “Estonia” and played a vital role in collecting folklore and founding several Estonian museums. His works, primarily watercolors and oil paintings, often bear an ethnographical touch and have been exhibited since 1919.
