Erich Pehap (1912-1981) is a renowned artist known for his unique style and technique. His work, “Tuled tänaval” (1962), is a testament to his mastery in the field of art. This piece, measuring 57 x 43 cm, is an original author’s technique on paper. The left side of the artwork is marked with “4/12 N. D. M. Street Lights” and the right side is signed by Erich Pehap himself, dated 1962. Pehap studied painting under N. Triigi and graphic arts under A. Laigo and R. Vaheri at “Pallas”, graduating in 1939. During the war, he moved to Finland, then Sweden, and finally settled in Toronto in 1949. He was a member of several international art associations, including the International Institute of Arts and Letters (Switzerland), World Print Council (USA), and an honorary member of the Academia Internazionale di Roma, among others. Pehap has received numerous awards for his exceptional work.
