Erich Pehap’s artwork “Arrest of the Drunkard” (1932) is a captivating ink on paper drawing that measures 26.4 x 20 cm. Pehap’s art education began at the “Pallas” Art School in Tartu, where he studied under N. Triik (painting) and A.Laigo and P.Vaher (drawing). After emigrating through Finland, Sweden, and eventually settling in Canada, he graduated from the Montreal Institute of Design in 1952. Pehap was celebrated abroad, winning several prizes, with his works housed in museums across Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, and private collections. He was an honorary member of the International Academy in Rome and the Academy of Milan. His art associations and awards are numerous, and he exhibited his works in Canada, the USA, and many European countries.
