Möldroo, Aleksander (1902 – 1991). Removal from a Cross. (1935)

This beautiful Linocut print on paper titled “Removal from a Cross” is the creation of renowned theater artist and graphic artist Aleksander Möldroo. Measuring 22 x 24 cm, it’s marked by Möldroo’s signature in the lower right, dating back to 1935, and has “Linoollõige” inscribed on the lower left. Born in 1902 in Narva and died in 1991 in Tallinn, Möldroo’s artistic career spans various theaters and includes an expressive shift from early designs to more situational and realistic works. The linocut technique and monotype printing define his unique style, making this piece a true collector’s item.
