Loik Ilme (b. 1939) – “Naissaarelt” (2016)

Loik Ilme, born in 1939 in Vahastus, Raplamaal, is a renowned artist known for his work in painting and porcelain. He completed his education from Tartu Art School in 1968 as an artist-decorator and from the Estonian State Art Academy as a ceramist in 1974. He has worked as an artist-decorator in Tallinn’s Cafes-Restaurants Trust and as an artist in the ARS porcelain painting art combine. Currently, he is engaged as a freelance artist in painting and porcelain. He has exhibited his work in Estonia and Finland. The artwork “Naissaarelt” from 2016, an oil on cardboard painting, measures 37.5 x 56.5 cm and is signed on the bottom left as Ilme Loik 2016.
