This magnificent piece by Alex Kütt was drawn in brown pencil on paper, measuring 21 x 21 cm. The signature “A.Kütt” can be found in the lower left corner. Created in 1945, this artwork reflects the mastery that Alex Kütt acquired while studying at the Tallinn State Institute of Applied Arts, where he graduated in 1949. He served as a lecturer at the Department of Drawing and Graphics at the Art Academy of Estonia from 1949 to 1985. Notably, Kütt is renowned for his contributions as a printmaker, experimenting with new techniques such as electro-colour gravure printing and graphic hot. His subjects vary from fishermen and industrial motifs to landscapes, sports, and war. His early works are close to nature, but by the 1960s, his work became more complex and imaginative, evolving into a predominant decorative style.
