Burman, Karl jun. (1914 – 2001). Saanisõit. (1955)

Watercolour on paper by Karl Burman, this remarkable artwork titled “Saanisõit” (1955) reflects the brilliance of Burman’s training in Tallinn under K.Winkler, and later in Moscow’s Stroganov School of technical drawing. The influence of his architectural studies at the Petersburg Academy of Arts (1902 – 1907) is evident in this piece. The painting, signed “Karl Burman 1955” on the lower left, measures 16 x 29 cm and embodies the artist’s unique style.
