He was born in 1968 in Kiev, graduated from the Institute of Applied Arts and Design there in 1988 as an artist-designer, and in 1994 – from the State Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture as a monumental painter. His teachers were well-known painters-academicians V.Zabaštõ, V.Storoženko. Since 1998 he has been a member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine.
D.Dobrovolsky’s first solo exhibition took place in Kiev in 1994. Over the next almost twenty years of his creative career, the artist has participated in more than 20 local and international exhibitions: in Ukraine – Kiev, in the United Kingdom – London, Cambridge and Edinburgh, in Germany – Kassel, in Russia – Moscow, in the USA – Chicago, in Estonia – Tallinn and Kuressaare. His works can be found in museums and private collections in European countries, the USA, and Canada.
Maaser, Eduard (1916 – 1990). Girl with Book (1947-48)

Watercolour on paper by Karl Burman Jr. (1914–2001), a celebrated watercolourist hailing from a distinguished family of artists in Estonia. Known for his distinctive watercolour technique, Burman Jr. dedicated his life to capturing evocative cityscapes, inspired by his enthusiastic interest in architecture. His architectural studies at the University of Tartu and the Tallinn Institute of Technology further fueled his passion, leading him to become one of the most prominent watercolourists from the 1950s to the 1990s. This 1947 masterpiece titled "In Shop" measures 37 x 40.5 cm, and is signed in the lower right by Karl Burman Junior. He received art education from his father, Karl Burman the Elder, and uncle Paul Burman, famous names in Estonian art, and continued his artistic journey at the Moscow Art Institute. Karl Burman the Younger played an instrumental role in organizing the Union of Estonian Artists in Yaroslavl in 1943.
