Oscar Raunam, an alumni of the State Higher Art School, was under the tutelage of I. Greenberg and graduated in 1941. Recognized for his profound skill, he became a reader in 1951 and later, a professor of art in 1961. His talent was internationally acknowledged when he won the Grand Prix at the Paris Exhibition in 1937.
