Gebhardt, Karl (1860 – 1917). Interior. (1896)
Discover the captivating artwork "Interior" (1896) by Karl Gebhardt, a distinguished alumnus of the Munich Academy of Arts. This beautiful oil painting on cardboard represents a serene depiction of Rattenberg Park (Kiriku eeskoda), located in the lower left of the piece. With a size of 26.5 x 37, it showcases Gebhardt's mastery in portraying landscapes and interiors. Strahhov Anatoli (born 1946). Mother of God. Soothe my Sorrow (1997)
This stunning piece by Anatoli Strahhov, "Mother of God. Soothe my Sorrow", is a brilliant fusion of oil and tempera on cardboard. Crafted in 1997, it brilliantly captures the emotions, intricacies, and depth that the artist is known for. The artwork measures 38 x 33 cm, and the phrase "Утоли моя печаль А. Страхов Богоматерь 1997" is inscribed on the reverse, marking its authenticity and heritage.
Margarethe Fuks: A Journey Through Her Artistic Life
Margarethe Fuks (1921 - 2005) was a renowned watercolor artist, born in Leningrad in 1921. Her family moved to Estonia the same year. She completed her primary education in Tallinn in 1935 and graduated from the State School of Applied and Fine Arts in 1940, specializing in decorative painting. She furthered her studies at the J.Koort State School of Applied Arts in 1940-41 and at the Tallinn School of Fine and Applied Arts in 1942-43, under the tutelage of N.Mei and E.Haamer. Fuks worked in Sindi and in Tallinn at A. Mõttus's studio and at "Ars" from 1944 to 1983. She became a member of the Artists' Union in 1955. Fuks illustrated and designed numerous children's and youth books, textbooks, youth magazines, and newspapers. She also practiced poster art and painted cityscapes, still lifes, and portraits. In 1947, she designed the badge and breastplate for the first general song festival of the Estonian SSR, in collaboration with A.Hoidre.
Inkatov, Sergey (born 1971). In the Village (2006)
Sergei Inkatov's "In the Village (2006)" is an exquisite example of his original abstract oil paintings, expressing life's balance and positive energy. Born in Baku, Azerbaijan in 1971, Inkatov's unique blend of vivid colors and rich textures radiates throughout his work. His paintings have been exhibited worldwide, with collections in prestigious locations such as the Narva Museum and Galeria Comas. Einmann, Eduard (1913 – 1982). Wood Meadow. (1965)
This stunning watercolour artwork titled "Wood Meadow" was created by the talented artist Eduard Einmann in 1965. Using high-quality watercolour on paper, Einmann managed to capture the serenity and beauty of a meadow. Measuring 27.1 x 37.3 cm, the piece boasts the artist's signature "E.E.1965a" on the lower right, indicating its authenticity and connection to a pivotal period in his artistic journey.
Ilmar Kimm (1920 – 2011): Tallinn – Pärnu mnt. (1981)
Ilmar Kimm (1920 - 2011) was a renowned artist based in Tallinn and Pärnu. His work, "Tallinn – Pärnu mnt. (1981)" is an oil on canvas masterpiece measuring 81 x 100 cm. The signature "Ilmar Kimm 81" can be found on the lower right of the painting. On the reverse, it reads "Ilmar Kimm Tallinn – Pärnu mnt 1981.a. õ.l. 81 x 100cm". Kimm graduated from the I. Repin Institute of Art in painting in 1948. He was a faculty member at the Tartu State Art Institute from 1948-51 and at ERKI in Tallinn from 1952-88 (from 1954 as an associate professor, from 1965 as a professor, 1963-83 as head of the painting department, and 1983-88 as a consulting professor). He practiced all painting genres, with a particular focus on historical and work-themed figure compositions and portraits.
Bogatkin Vladimir (1922 – 1971). The Moskva Kind. (1955)
Oil on canvas painted by the remarkable Soviet artist and painter Bogatkin Vladimir Valerjanovich. Known for his devotion to portraying life in the Soviet Army, this piece titled "The Moskva Kind" (1955) showcases Bogatkin's unique artistic vision. Studying at the All-Russia Academy of arts in Leningrad and later engaging in M.V.Nesterov workshop, his legacy includes the significant series of lithographs such as "Leningrad in days of blockade", "Moscow invincible", "Storm of Berlin". This artwork measures 60.5 x 40.5, with the reverse inscribed as "Vladimir Bogatkini töö 1955" and Valli Lember – Bogatkina.
