Joann Saarniit (1909-1984): “Birches” 1977 Original
Joann Saarniit (1909-1984) was a renowned painter and graphic artist, born in Russia. He passed away in 1984 in Toronto. Saarniit began his artistic journey in 1925 at the State Art Industrial School, graduating in 1932 with a specialization in decorative painting. In 1944, he left for Finland and later moved to Canada in 1948. He worked in Toronto as a department head in an advertising firm and ran his own painting and applied arts studio. Saarniit is known for his idealized depictions of Estonian history in his figure compositions. This landscape painting, titled "Birches" from 1977, captivates with its play of colors. It depicts early spring, the awakening of leaves on birches, and the melting of snow, all of which symbolize the birth of new life and evoke positive emotions. The painting is oil on masonite and measures 61 x 32 cm. Saarniit's signature can be found on the bottom left, and on the back, it is labeled as Joann Saarniit "Birches" 1977 original. Saarniit's works are held in private collections in the USA, Canada, the UK, and Estonia.
Mei, Natalie (1900–1975). “Sketch for a Costume”. (1930s).
"Sketch for a Costume" is an exquisite watercolour, pencil, and paper artwork created by Natalie Mei in the 1930s. This 25 x 17.8 cm piece is prominently marked with "Veenus siidis" and 2 signatures from Tamm Eskola at the upper right. Natalie Mei, a renowned Estonian graphic and theatrical designer, crafted costumes for some of the most famous operas, including S.Prokofiev's "Romeo and Juliet," M.Musorgsky's "Boris Godunov," J.Puccini's "Princess Turandot," G.Bizet's "Carmen," and more. Her education at "Pallas" Art School and work at the "Estonia" Theatre left an indelible mark on the artistic world. This piece reflects her exceptional talent and eye for design, offering a glimpse into her creative process.
Einmann, Eduard (1913 – 1982). In a Court Yard. (1955)

As a correspondent member of the Academy of Arts of the USSR from 1958, and a professor of art since 1963, his works have found homes in museums across the globe.
Enno Lehis: Life, Work, and “Lilled” (1962)
Enno Lehis (1912-2011) was a renowned watercolor artist born in Loksa, Harjumaa. He studied trumpet at the Tallinn Conservatory from 1930-1934 and later pursued painting at ERKI under the guidance of Johannes Greenberg and Lepo Mikko from 1944-1951. Lehis held his first exhibition in 1957 and his caricatures were published in the PIKKER magazine in 1957-1958. He was a member of the Estonian Artists' Union since 1959 and participated in various exhibitions in Tallinn, Moscow, and Riga. Lehis held seven solo exhibitions and worked as a freelancer. His main body of work consists of landscape paintings, with a particular focus on the sea and autumn nature. He also practiced composition and portraiture, using soft melting tones achieved by allowing colors to blend while wet. The artwork "Lilled" (1962) is a watercolor on paper, measuring 36.7 x 28 cm, signed 'E. Lehis' at the bottom right and 'Lehis, Enno Lilled akvarell 1962' on the back.
