Educated at the prestigious "Pallas" Art School under N.Triik, Mei became the principal costume designer for major productions at the "Estonia" Theatre, including works like S.Prokofiev's "Romeo and Juliet", M.Musorgsky's "Boris Godunov", and more. Mei's influence extended beyond the theatre, with additional designs for Tallinn Drama Theatre and the Leningrad musical theatre. Artist: Anatoli Strahhov, born in 1946, is a renowned artist who studied at Tshinvali Art School from 1963 to 1967 and at the Estonian SSR State Art Institute from 1971 to 1976. He currently lives and works in Tallinn. Strahhov is a member of the Estonian Artists' Union and the Estonian Russian Artists' Association. He has been participating in national and international exhibitions since 1975. His annual solo exhibitions have been held in galleries and exhibition halls in Estonia and abroad. His works are in private collections in the USA, Finland, Italy, France, Japan, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Russia, and Estonia. Strahhov's works, which skillfully create the impression of different materials and textures, balance conservatism and experiment, tradition and exoticism, expressive materiality and ephemeralness on a strange border, contain elusive textures and meanings, never fully opening. He has participated in more than 30 solo and group exhibitions. The artwork "Varajane kevad (2023)" is an oil and tempera on canvas, measuring 39 x 62 cm, signed A. Strahhov 2023 on the right.
