Karl Burman Jr., a luminary from a lineage of celebrated artists, brings to life this exquisite watercolor masterpiece. Hailing from an illustrious background, his father, Karl Burman Sr., was not only one of Estonia's revered architects but also a seasoned watercolourist. Similarly, his Uncle Paul Burman painted landscapes with an Impressionist touch and had an adept hand for animals and still lifes. Karl Jr., driven by a fervent passion for architecture, beautifully painted cityscapes and was particularly renowned for his watercolour technique during the 1950s-1970s. This piece titled "Saunas" from 1941 is a testament to his legacy and love for the art.

Discover the serenity and intricate artistry of "Taken a Rest" by Carl Plückebaum. Painted in the early 20th century, this piece showcases Plückebaum's mastery over oil on cardboard. Hailing from Düsseldorf, Germany, Carl became renowned not only as a painter but also an engraver. He was notably an apprentice to esteemed Estonian artists Jansen and Gebhardt. Strahhov, Anatoli (s. 1946). Kevadlilled (2023)

Artist: Anatoli Strahhov, a renowned artist who studied at Tshinvali Art School from 1963 to 1967 and at the Estonian SSR State Art Institute from 1971 to 1976. He currently lives and works in Tallinn. Strahhov is a member of the Estonian Artists' Union and the Estonian Russian Artists' Association. He has been participating in national and international exhibitions since 1975. His annual solo exhibitions have been held in galleries and exhibition halls in Estonia and abroad. His works are in private collections in the USA, Finland, Italy, France, Japan, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Russia, and Estonia. Strahhov's works, which skillfully create the impression of different materials and textures, balance between conservatism and experiment, tradition and exoticism, expressive materiality and ephemeral border, contain elusive textures and meanings, never fully opening. He has participated in more than 30 solo and group exhibitions. The artwork "Kevadlilled" is made with oil, tempera on cardboard, and measures 25 x 25 cm. It is signed by the artist - A. Strahhov 2023.

He was born in 1968 in Kiev, graduated from the Institute of Applied Arts and Design there in 1988 as an artist-designer, and in 1994 – from the State Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture as a monumental painter. His teachers were well-known painters-academicians V.Zabaštõ, V.Storoženko. Since 1998 he has been a member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine.
D.Dobrovolsky’s first solo exhibition took place in Kiev in 1994. Over the next almost twenty years of his creative career, the artist has participated in more than 20 local and international exhibitions: in Ukraine – Kiev, in the United Kingdom – London, Cambridge and Edinburgh, in Germany – Kassel, in Russia – Moscow, in the USA – Chicago, in Estonia – Tallinn and Kuressaare. His works can be found in museums and private collections in European countries, the USA, and Canada.

Valdur Ohakas studied at Tallinn Primary School 21, Tallinn Progymnasium II, Tallinn Commercial School and Tallinn Evening Technical School. In 1942–1943 he studied at the Tallinn School of Fine and Applied Arts under Eerik Haamer and Johannes Greenberg. In 1943–1944 he was mobilized in the German army. In 1944–1948 he studied at the Tartu State Art Institute under Johannes Võerahansu and Elmar Kitse, but did not finish school, as in 1949 he was arrested together with a group of art students and sent to the Vorkuta prison camp in the Karaganda region of the Kazakh SSR. He was released from there in 1956.
He has been exhibiting since 1946, and has been a member of the Estonian Artists' Union since 1959.
Valdur Ohakas participated in the 1960s Estonian art renewal process and interacted closely with Ülo Sooster and many artists from Tartu and Tallinn. The peak of the artist's work was the 1960s–1970s, when romantic landscape visions were central to his diverse work.
