Jaan Tuuling (1930 – 1998) was a renowned Estonian artist, best known for his work “Linnatänav puudega” (1957). This piece, an oil on cardboard measuring 13.9 x 17.5 cm, is a beautiful representation of his unique style. The artwork is signed with a pencil on the reverse – J. Tuuling 1957. This piece comes directly from the artist’s family collection. Tuuling graduated from the Estonian State Art Institute in 1961, specializing in painting. He worked as an art teacher in a Tallinn school with an art bias and also as an advertising poster artist. Jaan Tuuling was a member of the Estonian Art Fund and participated in several exhibitions both domestically and abroad. His works are highly valued and can be found predominantly in private collections worldwide, including in Sweden, Switzerland, Russia, France, Finland, and the United States.
