Jaan Tuuling (1930 – 1998) is a renowned artist known for his work “Aasal” (1955). This piece, an oil on cardboard measuring 12.3 x 16 cm, is signed on the reverse with a pencil – J. Tuuling 24.4. 1955. This work comes directly from the artist’s family collection. Tuuling graduated from the Estonian State Art Institute in 1961, specializing in painting. He worked as an art teacher in a Tallinn school with an art bias and also as an advertising poster artist. Jaan Tuuling was a member of the Estonian Art Fund and participated in numerous exhibitions both domestically and abroad. His works are highly valued and can be found predominantly in private collections worldwide, including in Sweden, Switzerland, Russia, France, Finland, and the United States.
