Born into a gardener family, Tiggins advanced his skills at the art school of V. Blums in Riga and furthered his studies under L. Dmitriev-Kavkazskis in St. Petersburg. Since 1900, he has graced various exhibitions, becoming a member of the Independent artists and also illustrating for K. Skalbe’s book. This particular piece, signed lower left as A.
