Olev Soans (1925 – 1995): Vaade Tallinnale Pärnu maanteelt (1967)

Olev Soans (1925 – 1995) was a versatile and innovative user of graphic techniques, philosophical and sharp in terms of imagery. His series “New Age” was novel at the time for its use of the technique – serigraphy – and spoke of sensitive responses to current social issues. The artwork “Vaade Tallinnale Pärnu maanteelt” (View of Tallinn from Pärnu Highway) created in 1967 is an etching on paper, measuring 64 x 45 cm. The artist’s signature and the year of creation are located in the middle, with the word ‘proov’ (proof) on the right.
