Sagur, Evald (1922 – 1987). Birches on the Coast. (1960s)

Measuring 48 x 63 cm, this piece is elegantly signed in the lower right by E. Sagur. A graduate of the Gosudarstnunny Hudozhestvenno-industrial secondary school and the Gosudarstvenny institute of applied art, Sagur worked as a drawing teacher before becoming a prominent figure in art exhibitions. He painted posters and collaborated with the magazine “Pioner” as a designer. His first personal exhibition was in 1963 in the Tallinn cinema in Sõprus. This piece captures the tranquility and natural beauty of birch trees along the coast, with Sagur’s unique artistic touch making it a must-have for art collectors and enthusiasts.
