Introducing “Summer” (1975) by August Pulst, a remarkable oil on plywood painting, measuring 50 x 36 cm. Signed lower right as A. Pulst 1975, this piece emanates the charm of nature. August Pulst’s education was acquired in Riga Art School (1911-15), learning from masters like V. Purvitis, V. Tillbergs, and B. Borchert. From 1915 to 1917, he worked as a decorator at the theatre “Estonia” and was involved in collecting folklore and founding Estonian museums. Since 1919, his works have been exhibited, predominantly in watercolors and oil paintings. Primarily showcasing landscapes, flowers, and views of the old town, his works often carry an ethnographical touch.
