Erich Pehap (1912-1981) was a renowned artist known for his unique lino cut on paper technique. His piece, “Sadam” (1972), measures 25 x 24 cm and is signed on the bottom right as “E. Pehap – 72”. Pehap studied painting under N. Triigi and graphics under A. Laigo and R. Vaher at “Pallas”, graduating in 1939. During the war, he moved to Finland, then Sweden, and finally settled in Toronto in 1949. He was a member of several international art associations, including the International Institute of Arts and Letters (Switzerland), the World Print Council (USA), and an honorary member of the Academia Internazionale di Roma, among others. Pehap received numerous awards throughout his career.
