Peeter Mudist (1942 – 2006) was a unique creator in Estonian art, known for his independent expressive style. Born in Tallinn on April 19, 1942, Mudist held various positions in Tallinn, including working as an artist at Arsis from 1971-1979 and as a lecturer at the Tallinn Pedagoical Institute from 1979-1981. Since 1981, he has been working as a freelance artist. He has been a member of the Estonian Artists’ Union since 1972 and has been participating in exhibitions since 1968. Mudist has made a significant contribution to painting, sculpture, and graphics. His early paintings, characterized by an independent expressive style, stood out from the trends of his contemporaries.
