Louis Paul’s “Fish Smokers” is a captivating artwork painted on cardboard, illustrating the nuances of the 1950s. Measuring 23 x 35, the piece carries an inscription on the reverse by M. Paveli Erakogust. Interestingly, the artwork is also titled “Kalasuitsetajad 1957”, with an attribution to M. Pavel, the son of the artist. A testament to Louis Paul’s expertise, he completed his art education at the renowned Art School Pallas in 1944 under the guidance of Ado Vabbe.
