Boris Ninemäe, born in 1925, was a renowned artist whose studies in Estonia were cut short by war and emigration. Despite these challenges, he continued his studies abroad, enhancing his skills through study trips in Finland, Denmark, Norway, Austria, Germany, Italy, France, and the USA. Ninemäe had a deep love for painting motifs taken from everyday Estonian life, depicting the daily work and leisure moments of ordinary people. His individual exhibitions have been held in various cities in Sweden and Norway, including Malmö, Växjö, Karlshamn, Larvik, Elverum, and Stockholm. Ninemäe’s works can be found in various foreign museums. The artwork “Võrguparandajad. Kalurinaised” was created between 1960 and 1970, using oil on canvas, and measures 22 x 27. The signature “Ninemäe” can be found on the bottom right of the piece.
